Disney’s All Star Movies

So I decided that for my few days in Orlando before starting with Disney that I wanted to stay at a Disney Hotel and I need to find one that fit my budget. All Star Movies ticked all those boxes and looked great, however I hadn’t heard the best things about the all star resorts.

Pulling up you can see the big all star sign, and the oversized suitcases out front which was a great touch. Then walk down the red carpet into the lobby area. Immediately the smell of a nice vanilla candle hot you and made you just feel at home. Looking to the left was the little movie area for the kids, and to the right was check in.

The check in line was basically non existent which was nice. The cast members comes around from behind the counter to greet you and then you start the check in process. They were really lovely for me and explained everything and even gave me a magical moment and upgraded my room. I was super excited to see what that meant.

The room was in the toy story section, building 10 (the one with the giant Buzz) and I got a courtyard view. It was perfectly comfortable for my stay and a great hotel room with a good layout, plenty of amenities and comfortable beds, heaps of chargers.

The room has 2 queen beds however one of them folds into the wall when not in use, creating a little dining area which is nice. Disney really did think about everything when they remodeled these rooms and it shows. It truely exceeded expectations.

It was about a 5 minute walk from my room to the main building (if even that) which was super convenient especially check in night when it was raining, as in typical Disney fashion it doesn’t have covered pathways.

The themeing of the resort is definitely the main draw, with the larger than life props drawing your eye every which way. The buildings are themed after Toy Story, Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 (although the Fantasia building was under remodel while I was there), 101 Dalmations, Love Bug and Mighty Ducks.

As with basically every resort there was a gift shop with a great variety of Disney merch, even some general all stars merch, as well as edible items for those that need some packaged food. They also have a food court which actually had decently good food too. Both of these places also got the theme of the resort.

Overall I would not hesitate to recommend this resort to others thinking about booking it. It definitely has that Disney charm and convenience. The only downside is that it is a value so more families, ammenities aren’t always there (gym and spa) and the soaps aren’t as nice, also it shares a bus with the other 2 all star resorts and is the last stop. However during busy times it does get its own bus which is nice.
